Avian Sandercock

Avian lives in Cornwall, where his family have farmed for some 400 years, making him almost a local. He caught his first fish aged six, received his first air rifle at ten and has been happiest in the countryside ever since.

Still just on the right side of 60, he remains active in his local shoot and is keen to improve its habitat and biodiversity. An inelegant fly-fisher, he occasionally surprises himself by putting a trout on the bank, while his enthusiasm for game shooting comfortably exceeds his talent.

Since semi-retiring, Avian has discovered a love of communicating his delight in the outdoors through podcasts and filmmaking. A former distiller, he also has a taste for fine spirits and is a dab hand behind the cocktail bar.
